Overview:

The Rainbow Mountain of Peru, also known as Winicunca, is stunning and can be seen on the spectacular Ausangate area. On this trek you will see tradoitional villages, beautiful adobe style houses, herds of llamas and alpacas and you will have magnificent views of the Ausangate Mountain (6,385 m / 20,945 ft.), the highest mountain in Cusco region.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 01: CUSCO - AUSANGATE - ANANTA

This amazing hike begins with early start, we pick you up from your selected hotel in Cusco. A private transportation departs from Cusco towards the beginning of the trek, 3 to 4 hours approximately to magnificent and sacred Ausangate cordillera (Vilcanota mountain range), the Rainbow Mountains and countless other natural wonders. we have our breakfast before our adventure begins. The trek begins in a large green valley. There, you will see hundreds of alpacas, local farmers, and the beautiful Ausangate Mountain as we move forward, we will reach the first pass of Pucaccocha (4876mt, 16,000 ft) , from here we can see the majestic Ausangate glacier and its resplendent lakes. Then we will stop for lunch on the way, and in the afternoon we will finally arrive at our camp in Ananta (4930 m) where we will have dinner and rest. This night you will see an unforgettable night sky full of constellations, shooting stars, and keep yourself warm with hot tea or hot chocolate and make sure to have warm jackets and clothes for this night!

Day 02:ANANTA – RAINBOW MOUNTAIN - RED VALLEY - CUSCO

Today is an important day because we finally after a good breakfast we ascend for 2 hours to Vinicunca or Rainbow Mountain 5100m / 16,732 ft. Upon arrival, you can take all the time you want soaking in the amazing 360-degree vistas of the surrounding lands and explore the mountain itself. Take some time to yourself and really enjoy the beauty of nature around you.  It truly is a magical place. A good rest and great photos of this beautiful mountain, we hike to another lookout point and see the spectacular Red Valley and continue with our hike through this valley that many hikers say that it is outstanding experience even nicer than Rainbow Mountain (because the crowds)! It is about 3-4 hours mostly downhill to the end of the trail, enjoy the amazing red mountains and valley and finally we reach Llacto where we have lunch, afterwards we take our private transportation back to Cusco (3 hours) to your selected hotel around 5pm.

  1. We suggest you arrive in Cusco at least two days before your trek to allow
    yourself time to acclimatize. The more acclimatized you are the more you
